Every September, communities like yours set up events, get to know their neighbors, and give away FREE naloxone.
Save a Life Day is a grassroots national day of action equipping the public to recognize and reverse an overdose. It started in two West Virginia counties. Today, all 50 states participate.
Reaching Overdose Zero starts with us.
Save a Life Day is a nationwide day of action that promotoes year-round widespread naloxone access as one solution to the overdose crisis.
Each year, on the fourth Thursday of September, communities across the U.S. set up tables, train neighbors, and give away free naloxone.
What began as a small West Virginia pilot has grown into the country’s largest annual day of free naloxone distribution.
In 2025 alone, communities distributed around 133,000 doses in a single day.
Save a Life Day keeps growing every year!
The only requirement? Hand out free naloxone.
County Organizers coordinate local events, recruit volunteers, source naloxone, distribute swag, and report data!
